Community Guidelines
Effective date: 2026-05-21 Last updated: 2026-07-28
Radiusly is a nearby, location-based chat service. Temporary in-chat identities help protect privacy, but they can also make it tempting to behave in ways you would not behave face-to-face. These Guidelines exist so the Service stays usable for everyone. They apply to all chats, all messages, and all chat names.
Violations are grounds for content removal and account/session termination at our sole discretion. Severe violations are grounds for permanent ban and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
These Guidelines are part of, and incorporated by reference into, our [[terms-of-service]] and the [[eula]].
Child Safety Standards
Radiusly has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, sexual solicitation of minors, trafficking, and any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a child.
Users can report a message from within the app or contact us at [email protected]. When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM or other CSAE, we will remove the content, permanently ban the responsible device or session, and make reports to law enforcement and relevant child-safety clearinghouses, such as NCMEC or an equivalent body, where required by applicable law.
Child-safety contact: [email protected].
1. The basics
- Treat people like people. No personal attacks, no harassment, no targeted intimidation.
- Assume your messages are public. Within a chat, everyone in range can read them. Do not post anything you would not be comfortable showing a stranger.
- Do not weaponise location. The Service binds chats to real-world places. Do not use it to coordinate harassment, stalking, or harm against anyone at or near that location.
2. Not allowed
The following content and behaviour are strictly prohibited:
2.1 Harassment and hate
- Personal attacks, threats, intimidation, or sustained targeted abuse.
- Hate speech: slurs or content that demeans, dehumanises, or threatens a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.
- Coordinated brigading or pile-ons.
2.2 Sexual content
- Radiusly strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, sextortion, trafficking, and any child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We remove this content, permanently ban involved users, preserve relevant evidence where legally appropriate, and report credible cases to the appropriate authorities.
- Pornography, sexually explicit content, and nudity.
- Sexual content involving minors of any kind ("CSAM"). This is a permanent ban and we will report to authorities and the relevant clearinghouse (e.g. NCMEC or equivalent).
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, including "revenge porn".
- Grooming, sexual solicitation, or sexualised contact directed at any user you know or have reason to believe is a minor.
2.3 Violence and dangerous behaviour
- Threats of violence against a person, group, or place.
- Glorification or incitement of violence, terrorism, or mass-casualty events.
- Content promoting or instructing self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- Detailed instructions for creating weapons, explosives, or other tools capable of mass harm.
2.4 Illegal activity
- Solicitation or sale of illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or counterfeit items.
- Solicitation or sale of sexual services.
- Coordination of any criminal activity.
2.5 Privacy violations
- "Doxing" — publishing private information (real name, address, phone number, workplace, photographs, identifying details) about any person without their explicit consent. This applies even when a post is presented without a verified real-world identity.
- Sharing another person's account credentials, private messages, or other confidential information.
2.6 Deception and manipulation
- Impersonating any real person, organisation, business, or public figure.
- Scams, phishing, fake giveaways, and pyramid/MLM schemes.
- Manipulating engagement (e.g. spamming the same chat from multiple sessions, coordinated raids).
2.7 Spam and abuse of the platform
- Unsolicited advertising, repetitive messages, link-spam, or content that exists only to drive traffic elsewhere.
- Creating chats with deceptive or attention-bait names that bear no relation to the location.
- Automated posting (bots, scripts, scrapers, or any non-human input).
- Using a VPN, GPS spoofer, or any other tool to falsify your location for the purpose of circumventing the 100-metre proximity rule.
2.8 Intellectual property
- Posting content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right.
- Removing or obscuring attribution on content that requires it.
2.9 Malware and exploits
- Distributing viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any code intended to damage a device or compromise a user.
- Sharing exploits, phishing kits, or step-by-step attack instructions targeted at users of the Service or any third party.
3. Chat names
Chat names must:
- describe the place or topic in a way that is useful to other users in the area;
- comply with the prohibitions in section 2 (no slurs, no sexual content, no incitement, no impersonation, etc.);
- not include personal information of any third party;
- not be misleading or designed to lure users elsewhere.
We remove chats with names that violate these Guidelines, even if the messages inside the chat are fine.
4. Reporting
Every message in the app has a Report control. Use it when you see content that violates these Guidelines.
You can also email [email protected]. Please include:
- the chat name and approximate pin location (city/area is enough);
- the displayed sender name and emoji;
- the reported content (quote, screenshot, or paraphrase);
- the approximate time it was posted.
We act on credible reports using commercially reasonable efforts within 24 hours. We may remove content, terminate the offender's session, permanently ban the device, and where appropriate report to law enforcement.
False reports intended to silence other users or vandalise chats are themselves a violation of these Guidelines.
5. Blocking
You can block other users from a message you no longer want to interact with. Blocking hides their messages from your view and prevents them from interacting with yours in scopes where the block applies. Blocking is not a substitute for reporting — please still report content that violates these Guidelines so we can act on it for the whole community.
6. Enforcement
Depending on severity, history, and context, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- a warning;
- removal of specific content;
- termination of an active session;
- a permanent ban on the device and any session derived from it;
- referral to law enforcement.
For content involving the sexual exploitation of minors, credible threats of violence, or other illegal conduct, the first response is a permanent ban and referral to authorities, with no prior warning.
We may take action without prior notice. We may decline to provide reasons in cases where doing so would compromise an investigation or another user's safety.
7. Appeals
If you believe action was taken in error, email [email protected] with the details of the action (when, what was removed, what notice you received). We will review in good faith. Because the Service has no accounts, we may not always be able to verify that an appeal comes from the same person whose content or session was actioned.
8. Changes
We may update these Guidelines from time to time as the Service and the threats against it evolve. Material changes will be highlighted in-app or on the website prior to taking effect.
